What chimney repairs cost
Chimney work covers a few different jobs, and they’re not all priced the same.
Repointing. Raking out crumbling mortar and repacking it fresh. Priced by how many courses need doing and how far round the stack.
Flaunching and pot repair. The flaunching is the mortar collar around the base of the pots. If it’s cracked, rainwater gets in behind it. Pots themselves can crack or lean and need re-securing or replacing.
Flashing repair. Renewing the seal where the chimney meets the roof, usually the first place a leak shows up.
Clearing growth and debris. Weeds and moss take root in old mortar joints and need clearing before any repointing will hold.
