Halton Cherry Picker Hire vehicle set up outside a large commercial building

For trades & businesses

Commercial & Trade Cherry Picker Hire

Operated access at height for contractors and businesses across Halton, Cheshire and Merseyside. You bring the trade; we bring the platform, a trained IPAF operator and the insurance, and do the lifting so your team can get on with the job.

Built Around the Trades That Work at Height

If your work takes you above ladder height, an operated platform is faster and safer than striking scaffold on every job, and there is no ticket for your team to hold. These are the trades we lift most weeks.

Roofers & roofing contractors

Access to ridges, valleys and chimneys without hiring and striking scaffold on every job.

Solar & renewables installers

Steady, positioned access to the array while your qualified installer does the electrical work.

Aerial, satellite & CCTV engineers

Reach eaves, gable ends and high mounting points on homes and commercial units.

Signage & shopfront companies

Fit, swap and repair fascia signs and high-level lettering from a stable platform.

Painters, decorators & renderers

Work full elevations, soffits and render at height without a tower or a wraparound scaffold.

Telecoms, fibre & broadband

Pole-top, wall and rooftop access for installs and fault-finding across the patch.

Builders & shopfitters

One-off high-level lifts on a site where full scaffold would be slow and over the top.

Facilities & property managers

Reactive high-level repairs, inspections and clearance across a portfolio of buildings.

You Do the Trade, We Do the Lifting

On access hire your own qualified tradesperson carries out the specialist work; we position the platform and keep it safe. It is the honest, insured way to reach jobs like these:

  • Solar panel installation
  • Aerial & satellite install / repair
  • CCTV installation
  • Flue installations
  • Signage installation & repairs
  • Exterior painting & decorating
  • Tree & high-hedge work
  • Rendering & external wall repairs
  • Telecoms, fibre & broadband installation

We Get You Up There

If you are a roofer, a builder or a maintenance contractor, the job is not the problem. Getting to it is. Scaffolding a single repair means a crew to put it up, days of waiting and a crew to take it down, and the customer sees the bill before you have touched the roof.

Hire the platform with an IPAF-trained operator instead. We bring it, we set it up in minutes, and we hold you at working height for as long as you need. £250 for a half day, £350 for a full day, delivery and insurance included. You do your trade, we do the access.

We are not roofers and we do not compete with you. We do chimney work, roof cleaning and gutter cleaning. If your customer needs a tile replacing, that is your job, and we are happy to be the way you reach it.

The Practical Reasons

No IPAF ticket needed on your side

Every hire is operated. Our trained IPAF operator controls and positions the platform while your engineer works from the basket, so nobody on your team needs a licence.

£5m insurance, LOLER-tested

In-date LOLER certification on the machine, an IPAF-qualified operator and £5m public liability. We can send the paperwork for your site file or RAMS.

Compact access, delivery included

Vehicle-mounted, so it gets into yards, car parks, closes and standard gateways that larger plant cannot. Delivery from our Runcorn yard is in the price.

Quick to quote, quick to site

Runcorn-based and covering Halton, Cheshire and Merseyside, we are often on site same or next day. Send the job and we confirm we can reach it before you book.

Contract & repeat hire

For regular or ongoing work we agree a rate up front, hold priority booking, and you deal with one operator who gets to know your jobs.

Clear price, no VAT

One price agreed before we book, delivery included, and we are not VAT registered, so there is no 20% on top.

Regular Work? Let's Make It Simple

If you need access more than once, we would rather be your go-to than a one-off. Tell us roughly how often and where, and we will agree a rate up front, hold priority booking for you, and keep you with the same operator who learns your jobs and your sites. One number, one clear price, no chasing.

Simple, Transparent Pricing

Prices are for the operated platform hire: the machine, a trained IPAF operator, delivery and insurance. Where we carry out the work ourselves, the job and any materials are quoted on top, though a reduced hire rate may apply. Either way, we'll always confirm one clear price before you book. No VAT added.

Businesses We've Lifted

“We hired Halton Cherry Picker Hire to help us access a roof, and the service was excellent. The equipment was reliable and exactly what we needed, and the team was friendly and helpful throughout. They arrived on time, gave great advice, and helped us complete the job safely and efficiently. I'd happily use them again and recommend them to others.”

“Used Halton Cherry Picker Hire to change some high-level lighting. Jordan was really experienced operating the lift whilst we changed the lights. Worked great as a team. Jordan is in my contacts for future use, wouldn't use anyone else. Thanks for your help.”

Commercial & Trade Hire FAQs

Practical questions from contractors and businesses about operated access hire.

Do my team need an IPAF licence or any training?

No. The hire is operated: our trained IPAF operator controls and positions the platform, so no one on your side needs a licence or ticket. Your engineer works from the basket to do the specialist part of the job.

What insurance and certification do you carry?

An IPAF-qualified operator, in-date LOLER certification on the machine, and £5m public liability insurance. We are happy to send copies for your site file, RAMS or principal contractor before the job.

Can you set up regular or contract hire?

Yes. For repeat or ongoing work we will agree a rate up front, give you priority on booking, and keep you with one operator who knows your sites. Tell us roughly how often and where, and we will put a simple arrangement in place.

How quickly can you get to site, and where do you cover?

We are based in Runcorn and cover Halton, Cheshire and Merseyside, so we are often on site the same or next day. Delivery from our yard is included in the price wherever you are in the covered area.

Can you invoice a business?

Yes. We invoice trade and business customers on completion, and for regular work we will set out simple terms up front so there are no surprises.

What if the platform can't reach my job?

We will tell you before you commit. Send the details or a photo and we will confirm we can reach it, or suggest another way, rather than turning up and charging for a wasted visit. The platform gives up to 20m working height and around 13m of outreach.

Need a Platform and an Operator?

Tell us the job, the site and roughly when. We'll confirm we can reach it and send a clear price, usually the same day. No VAT, delivery included.
