We are the data controller for the personal data described in this policy, which means we decide how and why your data is processed.

What personal data we collect

When you contact us

When you send an enquiry through the quote form on our contact page, we collect the details you enter: your name, email address and mobile number, the job location, details of the work you need, and optionally your business name and a preferred date. The form is delivered to us and stored by SortedMate, our UK-based enquiry-management provider (see the table below). To block spam, the form is protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks signals from your browser (including your IP address) to tell people and bots apart; it does not set cookies on this site.

If you get in touch by phone, or by messaging us on Facebook or Instagram, we only collect the information you choose to give us. This typically includes your name, your contact details, and details of the work you need carrying out.

Automatically collected data

When you visit our website, the following data may be collected automatically by our hosting provider:

  • Your IP address
  • Your browser type and version
  • Pages you visit and when you visit them
  • Referring website address

This data is collected through standard server logs and is used to keep the website running securely. We do not use this data to identify you personally.

Separately, and only if you consent via our cookie banner, we collect anonymous usage statistics through Google Analytics and measure which of our Google adverts lead to enquiries through Google Ads — see the Cookies, analytics and advertising section below.

Why we collect your data and our legal basis

We process your personal data on the following lawful bases under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR):

We do not use your data for marketing purposes unless you have given us separate, explicit consent to do so.

How we store your data

Our website is a static site with no database of its own. Enquiries sent through the quote form are transmitted securely (HTTPS) to SortedMate, which stores them on servers in the UK/EU and delivers them to us so we can respond.

When you contact us by phone or social media, we keep a record of your enquiry in our own systems (for example our phone and messaging accounts) so that we can respond and provide a quote.

We retain your enquiry details for up to 12 months from the date of your last interaction with us. After this period, we securely delete them unless we have an ongoing business relationship or a legal obligation to keep them.

Third-party services

We use the following third-party services that may process your data:

International data transfers

Our website is hosted by Vercel Inc. (USA) on its global edge network, so limited personal data (your IP address in server logs) may be transferred to the United States. These transfers are protected by:

  • Vercel's Data Processing Addendum, which incorporates the UK Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses, and
  • Vercel Inc.'s certification under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework (UK Extension).

Enquiries submitted through our quote form are stored by SortedMate in the United Kingdom and the EU, so they do not leave the UK/EEA. The form's bot protection is provided by Cloudflare, Inc. (USA), whose processing is protected by its certification under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework (UK Extension).

The map on our Areas page also loads map tiles from the providers listed in the table above, which may receive your IP address when the map loads.

If you consent to analytics or advertising cookies, usage and advertising-measurement data is processed by Google LLC (USA). These transfers are protected by Google's certification under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework (UK Extension) and Google's standard data processing terms. You can contact us for more information about the safeguards in place for any transfer.

Cookies, analytics and advertising

Our website sets no optional cookies without your consent. When you first visit, a cookie banner asks whether you accept analytics and advertising cookies; rejecting them changes nothing about how the site works. The cookies we use are:

  • cc_cookie (first-party, kept for 6 months) — remembers the choice you make in the cookie banner so we don't ask again on every visit. This is strictly necessary and is the only cookie set if you reject the optional categories.
  • _ga and _ga_… (Google Analytics, kept for up to 2 years) — set only if you accept analytics cookies. They help us understand which pages people visit and how they found us, in aggregate.
  • _gcl_aw and _gcl_dc (Google Ads, kept for up to 3 months) — set only if you accept advertising cookies. They record which of our Google adverts brought you to the site, so we can see which adverts actually lead to enquiries.

If you decline, Google Analytics and Google Ads set no cookies and store nothing on your device; we receive only limited, cookieless technical signals that Google uses to model aggregate statistics (Google Consent Mode), which cannot be used to identify you.

If you accept advertising cookies and then send an enquiry through our quote form, the email address and mobile number you typed are hashed (scrambled) in your browser before being shared with Google Ads, so Google can match the enquiry to the advert that brought you here without receiving your readable contact details (Google calls this "enhanced conversions").

You can change your choice at any time using the Cookie settings link in the footer of every page. Withdrawing consent also deletes any Google Analytics or Google Ads cookies already set.

Beyond this, our fonts are self-hosted (not loaded from Google) and, apart from the Google cookies described above, we do not use any marketing cookies, tracking pixels, or social media cookies. The map on our Areas page loads from third-party providers (see the table above), which receive your IP address when the map loads but do not set cookies on your device, and the enquiry form's bot protection (Cloudflare Turnstile) runs in a secure frame without setting cookies on this site.
