How much does it cost to hire a cherry picker?
Our operated platform is £250 for a half day (4 hours) and £350 for a full day (8 hours). That covers the machine, a trained IPAF operator, delivery, LOLER certification and £5m insurance. Where we carry out the work ourselves, the job and any materials are quoted on top (a reduced hire rate may apply), so you always get one clear price before we book. Not VAT registered, so no VAT to add.
Is the work extra, or included in the hire price?
The price is for the operated platform hire: the machine, a trained operator, delivery and insurance. Where we carry out the work ourselves, the job and any materials are quoted on top, though a reduced hire rate may apply since we are doing the work. We always confirm the full price before you book. For jobs where your own tradesperson does the work, the hire price is all you pay us.
Do I need a licence or training to hire?
No, all our hire is operated. A fully trained IPAF operator comes with the machine and carries out the work at height for you, so you never need a licence or any training.
How high can the platform reach?
Our vehicle-mounted platform offers up to 20m working height and around 13m of horizontal outreach, enough to clear most two and three storey homes and reach over obstacles.
Will it fit down my driveway?
In most cases, yes. It is mounted on a compact vehicle that gets through standard driveways and gateways. If access is tight, send us a photo and we will check before we book.
What do you specialise in?
Roof cleaning and moss removal is our most common job. We scrape and brush the moss off the tiles by hand from the platform basket, clear the ridges, valleys and flashings, then flush the gutters and downpipes before we leave. Gutter cleaning is a close second: the platform lifts our operator level with the gutter run so nothing gets missed. We also carry out chimney repointing and repairs, solar panel cleaning and bird proofing, all from the same operated cherry picker. No scaffold to hire and nobody walking on your tiles.
Is roof cleaning worth doing?
For most homes with visible moss, yes. Moss holds moisture against your tiles which causes cracking and slipping over winter. We clear it off by hand rather than pressure-washing — which can force water under the tiles — and flush the gutters as part of every clean so the whole roofline is sorted in one visit. Quotes are free and most homes are done in a day.
What areas do you cover?
Runcorn (WA7), Widnes (WA8) and Warrington (WA4), plus Frodsham, Helsby, Northwich, St Helens, Liverpool and Chester and the surrounding areas across Halton, Cheshire and Merseyside.
How quickly can you come out?
We aim to respond to every enquiry the same day and can often get to site quickly, especially across Halton and Cheshire.
